Back in the Day (Part 3): Our Wedding Day

So after a year and a half of planning it was finally time to get married. Yay! We probably set the date 3 times before we FINALLY set the real date. I admit. I loved the idea of getting married and all but I hated planning. Absolutely hated it. I love helping others plan though.
Our big day took place September 10, 2005. Many brides may say that it was like being in paradise. Well I can say that and mean it literally. We were married in my hubby's hometown of Paradise or P-town or whatever you want to call it. It took place in his parents beautiful front yard. It rained like hell the day before and the morning was really cloudy. But alas we had no rain. Thank goodness! We didn't have a backup plan so Mother Nature was routing for us that day!
Aaron and I decided we wanted to see each other before the wedding. Just to calm any nerves. Plus I wanted him to really take in the view of me in a dress cause God knows I would probably never wear one again after that day.

I will never forget the ceremony. In the middle of our vows, the best man's cell phone went off. NICE.
The day flew by so fast and there are so many details I don't remember. It was very surreal. And well I was a little buzzed by the end of the day too! But we had a beautiful day and even though a lot has been forgotten. At least we still have some pictures!

Back in the Day (Part 2): An Engagement to Remember

So it probably didn't come as a surprise to everyone that we moved in together after 3 months of dating. Then we were engaged like a month later. I guess when you know you just know. For all my friends and family who don't know our engagement story, here's a little light reading for you!
We had talked about taking a trip to Fort Bragg for a while. We both love the coast and I had never been there before. Perfect right? It was March 11th, 2004. We left the little town of Waste World and headed on up (or is it down? I always forget.) to blue salty water and cloudy skies. About 50 miles away from our destination we stopped at Denny's for the breakfast I will never forget. About 20 minutes & extremely curvy roads later, that breakfast was out the window. Literally. I got so stinking car sick. I will never, ever. I repeat NEVER eat Denny's again. I could not wait to get out of that car.
So we get to our hotel and I should have know something was up. We are kinda cheapo when we travel. We usually just get the cheapest room we can. This time we had a NICE one. Jacuzzi, fireplace, ocean view, the works!
After napping and eating a late lunch. We took a walk along the backside of our hotel. It had the most beautiful view. Aaron started falling behind. I stopped to wait and he just told me to go ahead, that he was trying to get the camera turned on and such. Whatever, I just walked to the cliff to take in the scenery. Of course I was scared to death the wind might blow me off the ledge. I got over it. After a few minutes he was still a bit behind me so I turn around and see him walking up to me. Then as the sun was setting he got down on one knee, ring in hand and asked me to marry him! I was so surprised! And happy too! I will never forget that day and just live for the day I will be able to tell my own children this story and their children too. I hope at least.
Aaron planned it all out pretty well I must say. He is definitely not a planner so I was a little shocked. Especially when he told me he had the ring hid in the vacuum (of all places) for over a month. Damn he is lucky I am not really a housekeeper or else who knows what would have happened with the ring!

Back in the Day (Part 1): How we met

So it all started back in 2002. Aaron and I worked together at Holiday. We became immediate friends! Probably because we are both smart-asses. An ass for an ass right? He could seriously always make me laugh. lol
Well fast forward to 2003. I had just gotten off work and it was my last day before I started college. He walked me out to my little old Toyota Camry to wish me well....and take out my groceries too. As he was getting ready to go back inside I finally got up enough courage to ask him out on a date. Lucky for me he said yes. I couldn't imagine the embarrassment of being turned down.
It was probably about a week later when we decided to go on our first date. He picked me up at my moms house and had a nice bouquet of flowers. Oh how I miss those days! We went to pizza and played some pool. Later that night we had our first kiss. From that moment on we were pretty much inseparable! And the rest is history........until next time!

New Year's Resolution

So one of my goals this year was to start a family blog and actually post in it. Not once every few weeks or once a month. But like 3+ times a week. Now this may pose a problem to me. Anyone who knows me in real life knows that I have a hard time sticking with doing certain things. I can get bored very, very fast! This is like my fourth blog so hopefully I can actually keep one going. This should be interesting!
